* Creators of New, Open, Collaborative Articles: All logged-on users may create new, open, collaboratively created articles by carefully choosing a title, including a date if possible, typing the title in the search box, and opening, editing, and saving the article. Please use the "Format for Open, Collaborative Entries" found in the Help section. :Content on OutHistory marked by a yellow "Open" box is created collaboratively by anyone with data, documents, and source citations to share.

* Administrators: People with administrative skills may volunteer to help with the administration of OutHistory.org by emailing outhistory@gc.cuny.edu.

* Artists: Visual and audio artists may contribute on-line art works inspired by LGBTQ history. To volunteer an art work email outhistory@gc.cuny.edu.

* Copy editors: People with copy-editing skills may volunteer to copy edit OutHistory entries by emailing outhistory@gc.cuny.edu.

* Creators of New, Open, Collaborative Stub Articles: Create new open, collaboratively created entries for which there is no or little content, then, if you wish, begin fill in the incomplete article. Please use the "Format for Open, Collaboratively Created Entries" found in the Help section.

Content on OutHistory marked by a yellow "Open" box is created collaboratively by anyone with data, documents, and source citations to share.

* Creators of New Protected Articles: All logged-on users may contribute new articles signed by them, and protected against editing by anyone but them and site administrators. To volunteer a signed, protected article email outhistory@gc.cuny.edu.

* Creators of New Timeline Entries: In "Edit" mode, at the bottom of all entries an "Article timeline" asks users to fill in "From" and "To" years, and, if available, months and days.
