To create a new entry you must first create an account on OutHistory.org.
 
 
 
 
 
To create an OutHistory account, click on "Log In/Create Account" on the top of the red bar, and follow the instructions.
 
 
 
 
 
After you are logged in:
 
 
 
 
 
1  Carefully decide upon a title for your entry. Here's a sample:
 
:Jane Doe: My Coming Out Story, June 1969-present
 
 
 
 
 
2  On the bar on the very top of the page, above the black OutHistory.org bar, look for
 
 
 
http://outhistory.org/wiki/. . . .
 
 
 
and carefully type your exact title after "wiki/" so it looks like:
 
 
 
 
 
http://outhistory.org/wiki/ Jane Doe: My Coming Out Story, June 1969-present <WE NEED TO FIX THIS SO THE ARROW DOES NOT APPEAR AFTER "WIKI" AND BEFORE "JANE">
 
 
 
 
 
3  Then press "Enter" on your keyboard.
 
 
 
 
 
4  Click on "edit this page." <THIS INSTRUCTION CAN BE CHANGED TO BE CLEARER>
 
 
 
 
 
5 Add your text to the page.
 
 
 
 
 
6  Preview your entry by clicking on "Show preview" at the bottom of the screen.
 
 
 
 
 
7 Fill in the "Summary" line by briefly summarizing your entry.
 
 
 
 
 
8 When you are ready to publish your entry, save it by clicking on "Save page" at the bottom of the screen.
