There is a growing history on antihomosexual therapists and the role they played in the twentieth century attempting to make homosexuals into heterosexuals. A website under development in the UK is dedicated to collecting oral histories of people who have undergone such treatments and the professioanls who provided them. See http://treatmentshomosexuality.org.uk/ There is evidence that such treatments persist in many non-western countries.
