Los Angeles Times obituary from Feb. 19, 1997. It should be noted that Slater had no middle name. He once told ONE's business manager, Dorr Legg [aka William Lambert], in jest that his middle name was Rutherford and was often referred to thus in Legg's business correspondence. Slater never attempted to correct Legg on the matter.
