Help OutHistory Make History

All donations to keep OutHistory alive and growing can be made through a secure online form on the donation page of the Center for Lesbian and Gay Studies (CLAGS).

The online form says:

"Your Support What would like your gift to support?"

From the drop-down box select:

"OutHistory.org Project"

This insures that your donation goes directly to OutHistory.org.

Or mail donations earmarked "for OutHistory.org" to CLAGS, Room 7115, Graduate Center, City University of New York, 365 Fifth Avenue, New York, NY 10016-4309.

After donating to OutHistory.org you will receive a posted letter from CLAGS acknowledging that your tax deductible donation will be used for charitable purposes only and that no goods or services were provided in exchange for your contribution.

CLAGS receives its nonprofit status from the Graduate Center of the City University of New York (CUNY), the largest urban institution of public education in the United States and one of the most financially beleaguered. CLAGS receives less than eight percent of its total operating budget from CUNY. It must raise the rest of its annual income from individual donations and foundations.

Your donation will allow OutHistory.org to keep making history!

Supporters

In 2005, a grant of $5,000 from the Zebra Fund via the Funding Exchange, through the generosity of the late Joan R. Heller and her partner, Dr. L. Diane Bernard, encouraged Jonathan Ned Katz to investigate how to go about funding and establishing a complex LGBTQ history site and supporting it over the long run.

OutHistory is being developed by the Center for Lesbian and Gay Studies (CLAGS), an institute at the City University of New York Graduate Center, under a two-year grant from the Arcus Foundation ($50,000 a-year) that ends December 31, 2008.

The 2007 OutHistory Advisors' Meeting was catered thanks to a donation by Florent Morellet of Restaurant Florent.

The Mulberry Group, Inc., contributed $1,500 in 2008.

Future Supporters

CLAGS is seeking other sources of financial support to make sure that OutHistory.org continues in 2009 and into the future. If you can help, please go to the Donate section of the site.
