There is a growing history on antihomosexual therapists and the role they played in the twentieth century attempting to make homosexuals into heterosexuals. A website under development in the UK is dedicated to collecting oral histories of people who have undergone such treatments and the professioanls who provided them. See http://treatmentshomosexuality.org.uk/ There is evidence that such treatments persist in many non-western countries.

A recent systematic review has been published on the experiences of LGB people in psychotherapy. The review was published by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and can be found on their website:http://www.bacp.co.uk/ The report is entitled:

There is a growing history on antihomosexual therapists and the role they played in the twentieth century attempting to make homosexuals into heterosexuals.
