| − | Located on South Alvardo by Wilshire Boulevard, the Park Miller was the first public movie theater in the United States that started showing gay themed movies on June 26, 1968. One of the earliest filmakers who had a deal with the Park Miller was [[Pat Rocco]]. The theater was originally opened in 1911 as the Alvarado with a neo-classical style facade. In 1936, S. Charles Lee remodeled the theater in Art Deco style.

| − | There was a sister theater run by the same management and located in New York City. It was located at 124 W. 43rd Street in Times Square. In the summer of 1969 it started showing gay films. In 1978 it was remodeled and became the famous disco Xenon. Both theaters were owned by the Los Angeles based Shan Sayles who also owned other movie theaters in Los Angeles (such as the Vista and the NuArt).
