To create a new entry you must first create an account on OutHistory.org.
To create an OutHistory account, click on "Log In/Create Account" on the top of the left red bar, and follow the instructions.
Create a New Entry:
- 1 Carefully type your entry title into the "Search" box and click on "Search".
- 2 At the top of the screen, click on your title, and you will be in Edit mode, ready for creating that title.
- 3 Add your content under the title.
- 4 Preview your entry by clicking on "Show preview" at the bottom of the screen.
- 5 Make any changes and "preview" them.
- 6 Save your entry by clicking on "Save page" at the bottom of the screen.
To create an open entry, created by public collaboration, add the following box to your entry:
OPEN ENTRY: This entry is open to collaborative creation by anyone with evidence, citations, and analysis to share, so no particular, named creator is responsible for the accuracy and cogency of its content. Please use this entry's Comment section at the bottom of the page to suggest improvements about which you are unsure. Thanks.

To protect an entry by a named author email OutHistory@gc.cuny.edu
A protected entry notice will look like this:
PROTECTED ENTRY: This entry by a named creator or site administrator can be changed only by that creator and site administrators, so they are responsible for its accuracy, coverage, evidence, and clarity. Please do use this entry's Comment section at the bottom of the page to suggest improvements. Thanks.
