Before Creating a New Entry:
- Try editing existing articles on OutHistory.org to get a feel for the software.
- Search OutHistory.org first to make sure that an article does not already exist on the subject. If the article does exist and it is unprotected, make any additions or edits you consider necessary or important.
- Gather references both to use as source(s) of your information and also to demonstrate notability of your article's subject matter. Articles that do not meet notability by citing reliable published sources are likely to be deleted.
Please do not create pages about yourself or your friends, pages that advertise, personal essays or other articles you would not find in an encyclopedia.
- Be careful about the following: copying things, controversial material, extremely short articles, and local-interest articles.
How To Create a New Entry:
First you must create an account as an OutHistory.org user. Then there are two ways to create a new page:
- You can type the title of your new page directly into the address bar
Ex: http://209.200.244.13/wiki/ (write your title here)
- You can also create a link on another page to your new page. After you save this edit, simply click on the link to get to your new, blank page.
Parts of a Complete Entry Include:
1 Title
2 Subtitle
3 Text
4 References
5 Categories
6 Summary
