To suggest how tough these will be, even for those of you Back East, I took all three of Admiral (USN) Samuel Eliot Morrison's Harvard courses in Colonial North American History, and still have his trilogy and volume of supporting documents over a half century later: no mention was ever made of these cases or of homosexuality. If the materials are at Harvard, someone with access might try the archives that do not appear in the more readily-searched library cataloging. Dedicated bigots have had over three centuries to destroy the traces. And if they aren't at harvard, there may be less hope elsewhere. Good luck!
