This article on Gay Liberation Front at Cornell refers to GLF in New York City. It states that GLF in New York disbanded in 1971 due to "gender-related" issues. There are many reasons that GLF fell apart, and that requires a complex discussion of politics on many levels. The way this is written is misleading and not accurate. Also, I think it is unrealistic and misleading to compare a campus based GLF to the pioneering New York GLF, which served the nation's largest metropolitan area. It's not as if "GLF" was a national organization with structure -- groups using the name "Gay Liberation Front" were created in various places with no connection to each other except for a commitment to radical transformation of the status of gay men and lesbians.
