2010, January 6:

The Obama administration for the first time included language on the federal jobs Website that explicitly bans employment discrimination based on gender identity. Here is the new government’s Equal Employment Opportunity statement: “The United States Government does not discriminate in employment on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, political affiliation, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, disability, age, membership in an employee organization, or other non-merit factor.”[1]
