Blueboy magazine started out of Washington D.C. in 1974 under the name Blue Boy edited by Don Westbrook (Donald N. Embinder). It moved to Miami the following year and changed the name to Blueboy. By the early 1980's it moved to Los Angeles. In the 1990's it came under heavy competition from glossy ad driven new gay magazines like Out, so it started focusing more on pornographic images. It ceased publication in 2008.
