I believe Mary Hammon may be my ancestor . I had a Great Aunt Grace E. Hammon whom I do believe was lesbian who was born in Iowa in 1885 and never married and was a business woman in Los Angeles. I am Gay also. I have traced the Hammon family back to 1776 in New York .
