[[Comment::The word rendered "coyse" is most certainly "coyfe", or in modern spelling "coif", the toght fitting cap worn by women and children (or, in an earlier age, by men under armor, for example). The triangular crosscloth would then be tied across the forehead, point falling back over the skull, to form a fairly complete head covering, over which a hat could be worn.]]
