The gay students at The University of North Carolina sponsored and organized the first Southeastern Gay Conference from Friday March 30 to Sunday, April 1, 1976. Eleven attendees came from Florida.

This conference inspired Florida to produce a conference. Lambda 76, a group of students from the University of Tampa, the University of Florida, Florida University, and Orlando Junior College organized and sponsored the first Gay Conference in Florida at the Orlando Junior College on Memorial Day weekend in 1976.

University of North Carolina gay students followed up with the Second Annual Gay Conference in 1977 at UNC in Chapel Hill, NC.

The following year, 1978, the conference was held in Atlanta, GA.

In 1979 the conference was back at the University of North Carolina, Chael Hill.

If anyone has flyers or photos from any of these conferences, please post them.
