Data-Boy
Data-Boy magazine began publication in April, 1968 in Hollywood CA. The first issue was released April 5, 1968 under the title The Queen Bee. By the following issue on April 19 it changed names to Data-Boy, which it retained until the end of its run in the 1990s. It was published by Saul Sufron, b. 1939 (Who also went by the name Fat Shirley according to an July 18, 1973 Advocate article). The magazine was circulated free through the gay bars and clubs all over California.
Data-Boy closed their West Hollywood storefront printing company on Santa Monica Boulevard in 1994 after more than 20 years in business as the leading: gay advertising agency, magazine publisher and local printer. Saul Sufron died on December 25, 1995 in Silverlake, California.
