Summary

Over the past 40 years, the LGBTQ community in Tippecanoe County, Indiana has evolved into a thriving, influential part of the local population. The Stonewall Riots caused little change in Tippecanoe County. Organizing in Tippecanoe County was centered around the presence of Purdue University and civil rights issues in the early 1990's. Although much has changed since the community began to organize in Tippecanoe County, acts of discrimination and lack of visibility still persist.
