My dear Charlie:----

I was very much disappointed at not receiving a letter from you before my departure from Venice. I had hoped you would write me to say whether or no you would meet me in Antwerp as I had planned. I am rushing to be there on the appointed day and hope you will not fail to come as according to my side of the agreement.

I left Venice two days ago and am now among the Americans here for [page 2] Forty eight hours or so. Have met Strong and today shall meet Toby Rosenthal and David Neal.

It will interest you perhaps to know that when Arthur went away a week ago I went to Ancona with him and we called on Father John and spent the most delightful day I have passed in Italy.

We dined in the same inn you did at Loreto. Afterwards Arthur & I visited Rimini, San Marino, Ravenna & parted at Castel Bolognese.

[page 3] Father John is a whole man. I am awfully taken with him. We are to write each other.

Now please write me to care of

Hotel du Nouveau Jardin

Rue aux Lits

Antwerp

for I shall go there for news from you.

With much love my dear boy I am as always your chummeke.

Frank

In the greatest haste breakfast waiting.
