"No longer will there be different classes of love"

The Parliament of Norway voted 84 to 41 to grant lesbian and gay couples the right to marry and adopt children on an equal basis with heterosexuals. The country's universal marriage act also granted lesbian couples the right to be artificially inseminated in the facilities of the Norwegian medical system. The chief commissioner of Oslo declared: "No longer will there be difference classes of love," and said he would marry his male companion of 26 years.[1]
