Spunk magazine was a sex positive gay men's zine that was published first in Newy City and then by El Hombre for Studio Iguana at 501 1rst Street in San Francisco. The first issue was published in July 1992 in New York City after sex club articles in New York Magazine and and by WNBC tv rocked city conservatives. The first issue consisted of 100 xeroxed copies. By issue #3 circulation was 5,000 copies. San Francisco was added in the listings in January 1993 and Los Angeles later that year.
