The Tavern Guild

Jump to navigationJump to searchThe Tavern Guild was an association of gay bar owners and liquor wholesalers that formed in 1962 in San Francisco. The Guild formed in response to police harassment of gay bars and gay people that had resulted in the closing of several bars during the early sixties. The Guild was the first gay business association in the United States.[1]
