Starting as an annual publication in 1991 covering the previous years porn offerings Adam Gay Video Directory was published by the same people who put out the Adam Film World straight directory which had been around since the early 1970s. It was published by Knight Publications out of 8060 Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles. It ceased publication in 2008. It also spun off a calendar, Adam Gay XXX Showcase, Adam Gay Video Erotica, Adam Gay Video Pictorial and Adam Gay Video Special Erotica.
